Immunohistochemical expression of Axin‐2, as an implication of the role of stem cell in scar pathogenesis and prognosis

Wound healing is a multi‐phased process. A disruption in these phases could result in a persistent wound or an atypical scar. Wounding activates wingless proteins (Wnt) signaling, which aids in the healing process. Axis inhibition protein‐2 regulates a variety of cellular activities through the Wnt and other pathways.
