Noninvasive quantification of regional myocardial blood flow (RMBF) with positron emission tomography (PET) and tracer-kinetic principles by using 15O-H2O and 13N-ammonia as tracer are addressed in detail. Some of the technique problems during quantification of RMBF, such as the correction of input function, partial volume effect and myocardial blood volume, are also introduced briefly.
