Analysis of Frequency Shift due to the Misalignment of Upper and Lower Plates of W-Band Planar Interaction Structure

In this paper, the simulation of W-band planar interaction structure (Staggered Double Vane Interaction Structure) has been discussed to analyze the misalignment of upper and lower plates. This simulation has been carried out by HFSS. Driven Modal solution type has been used to study the S-parameters plots and the field patterns. The lateral shift of 10, 15 and, 20 microns along x and y-axis has been investigated. It has been demonstrated that the frequency shift is from −0.5 GHz to +0.4 GHz due to the misalignment of plates for 10 to 20 microns.
