Selective erasure and processing in volume holograms superimposed in photosensitive Ferroelectrics

Selective erasure of superimposed volume holograms in iron doped LiNTbO3 is reported. Experimental results concern selective erasure of information bits or complete pages in holograms stacked by reference beam rotation outside the Bragg selectivity range. Logical operations between two binary transparencies are presented. Analysis of spatial index change with crystal short circuited or in the open-circuit configuration is also reported. Advantages of using a short-circuited crystal for recording and erasure is discussed.
