Mathematical model of PMSM and SynRM under maximum torque per ampere condition in a stator flux-linkage synchronous frame

This paper proposes a mathematical model representing the maximum torque per ampere curve of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) and a synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) in the M-T frame synchronized with the stator flux linkage vector. The proposed model gives the relationship between the stator flux linkage and the armature current. It has advantages such as simple calculation and suitable expression for direct torque control based PMSM drives. Two types of PMSMs, an interior PMSM and a surface PMSM (SPMSM), and SynRM are evaluated using finite element analysis. The proposed model of the SPMSM is evaluated by experiment. The validity, including the overload range, is confirmed in this study.
