Method and apparatus for allocating the power gains of reverse power control channels in mobile communication system

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for assigning a power gain of an RPC(Reverse link Power Control) channel in a mobile communication system are provided to efficiently distribute a limited power assigned in the entire RPC channel and reduce the consumption of an unnecessary power by calculating a channel gain necessary for each channel using a DRC(Data Rate Control) symbol. CONSTITUTION: An RPC channel gain controller(341) determines a channel gain of an RPC channel about each AT(Access Terminal) using DRC symbols received from a plurality of ATs. An RPC channel gain processor(331) multiplies an RPC bit about each ATM by each channel gain from the RPC channel gain controller(341) and outputs the multiplied value. A spreader(332) spreads the output of the RPC channel gain processor(331) as a certain orthogonal code.
