The Anomeric Effect

One of the problems of dynamic stereochemistry and conformational analysis — the anomeric effect — is surveyed, and is shown to be a general conformational phenomenon occurring widely in acyclic and heterocyclic compounds. A theoretical discussion is given of the nature of this effect. The bibliography comprises 189 references.
