RF integrated feedback circuits using on-chip magnetics

Transistors with gain-bandwidth products exceeding 100 GHz are enabling new opportunities for reactive feedback circuits in RFIC applications. The paper outlines the performance advantages of circuits employing on-chip magnetic feedback components. The state-of-the-art in on-chip magnetics for production silicon technologies is reviewed, and RF front-end examples are then presented that demonstrate both wide dynamic range and 1V operation.
