Pareto front analysis of a gas microturbine cluster operated in electrical load following mode

The Distributed Generation (DG) systems of today face a multitude of problems, among which the pollutant emissions and the energy efficiency play a key role. In this sense, the study of optimal operation strategies for such systems becomes highly important. Thus, the purpose of this work will be to investigate using the Nondominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA II) the operation of a 4 gas microturbine cluster functioning in electrical load following mode. A multiobjective optimization problem will be formulated and solved. The objectives to be optimized with this algorithm are represented by the NOx emissions, CO emissions and fuel consumption.
