Uma Análise do Investimento Setorial da Economia Brasileira no Período 2000-2013: Resultados a partir das Matrizes de Absorção de Investimento (MAIs)

The aim of this study is to approach Gross Fixed Capital Formation (GFCF) in the Brazilian economy from a sectorial perspective using the so-called Capital Flow Matrices (CFMs). These matrices disaggregate the GFCF data, allowing an economic activity level analysis. The mentioned CFMs were estimated by MIGUEZ (2016) for the 2000-2013 period. They were constructed based on the intersection of information from the System of National Accounts, in addition to several annual surveys published by Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), such as the manufacturing survey, wholesale and retail survey, construction survey and services survey and also some data from the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES). Finding out what were the activities investing in the recent period is an essential part of the study of structural change.
