How about gas then? : ceterum censeo...

South Africa has been searching for oil (with rather limited success, in case you did not notice) for over half a century. In the mid 80s, SOEKOR finally figured that there is no oil to be found on land. So they packed up their office, stuck all the on-land data in storage and moved down to Cape Town to continue the search in the off shore. In the process, all that data came precariously close to being lost or destroyed - but that is a story for another day. Suffice to say, most of it was saved to pay another day. Now, after nearly 30 years the penny has dropped and folks are realising that there is perfectly good energy to be had from gas as well!
