Frequency Characteristics Concerned Transmission Planning

With the gradual increase of power grid scale and the gradual complexity of power sources and electric loads, the frequency characteristics of power system are becoming more and more complex. The frequency characteristics are closely related to the electric power grid structure and electrical distances between power sources and electric loads. This paper proposed a transmission planning method concerning power system frequency characteristics. Firstly, mechanism analysis of the space-time distribution of power system frequency is conducted, and the measurement indicators of power system frequency space-time distribution are given. Then the transmission planning method considering frequency space-time distribution characteristics is formulated based on the given measurement indicators. Finally, case studies on a provincial power grid of China are conducted, and the numerical analysis illustrated the effectiveness of the proposed method.
