Test Method for the Safety Performance of the Millimeter Wave Radar -Based Autonomous Vehicle Using Distance Deception Jamming

To evaluate the safety performance of the millimeter-wave (MMW) radar-based autonomous vehicle effectively, we present a novel test method using distance deception jamming. The working principle of this method is described systematically. A signal generator device is developed to generate a deceptive signal contains false distance information. The related parameters of the experimental setup are calculated and configured reasonably. The experimental results show that the proposed method can meet the requirement of the safety performance evaluation for the autonomous vehicle based on MMW radar, and it is superior to previous methods.
