The research on key technologies of fault-tolerant permanent magnet motor in the drive system of electric vehicle

In order to improve the reliability and output performance of the drive system of electric vehicle (EV), a new type of interior fault-tolerant permanent magnet motor (FTPMM) with centrifugal rotor is proposed, and its systematic characteristics are analyzed. With the proper connection of windings and combination of the number of slots and poles, the capacity of limiting of short-circuit fault current is accomplished, and the motorpsilas fault isolation function including magnetic isolation, heat isolation and physical isolation is improved. The centrifugal structure of rotor is designed by the analytical method, so that it improves the back EMF waveform, and reduces the pulsation amplitude of cogging torque and radical magnetic force. At last the fault-tolerant ability and output performance are verified by the finite element method (FEM).
