The high de gree of consensus reached by a diverse cross section of the Salt Lake City com munity supports the notion of universal moral concepts. * After reflection and interaction, par ticipants reached an 81 Wo consensus on the existence of a moral valuing standard and an 86% consensus on the structural elements of this standard. * There is an insignificant difference between the moral valuing standard se lected by the Salt Lake City residents, after reflection and interaction, and that selected by the national sample. * The data reveal a high level of agree ment on a common moral valuing stan dard among self-labeled special interest groups within the Salt Lake City com munity.
