An End-to-End Demonstration for 5G Network Slicing

5G end-to-end (E2E) network slicing should contain not only core domain, but also radio access and transport domains. The pure virtualization of core network can not support the differentiated performances of eMBB, uRLLC and mMTC slices. This paper proposes a novel control framework as the middle layer between orchestrator and infrastructure to achieve the real-time response under runtime status of network slicing. The control elements connected by private subnet could be flexibly combined to satisfy compatibility and scalability. Two concepts of network breathing and radio spectrum slicing are also described to enrich the connotation of network slicing. One demonstration has been built up to verify the feasibility and performance of this control framework. Seconds-level response for network slicing is available under this control framework.
