Exploring the dynamics of urban housing structure: a 56 parameter residential location and housing model.

Extends disaggregated residential location models to a submodel of housing supply. The form of a suitable and flexible spatial interaction model is defined. The variety of spatial structures produced by different values of parameters are explored by numerical experiments in an idealised spatial system. These demonstrate the types of processes that operate in a metropolitan housing system, and feature the inter-dependencies between these and different groups of household. A major problem is to find ways of testing these kinds of models empirically.-A.F.Pitty
