Planning and Implementing a Teaching Workshop for Librarians

ABSTRACT A librarian and a faculty development specialist teamed up to design and carry out a workshop for librarians on teaching. The workshop focused on both classroom teaching and on building relationships with faculty and students. The three sessions covered pedagogical methods, application through team-taught microteaching sessions that were videotaped, and a discussion of information literacy with classroom faculty and an administrator. Two perspectives from the workshop facilitators shed light on how and why librarians and faculty should partner in the shared goal of integrating information literacy into the curriculum.
