Interleaved buck cell based full-bridge shunt active power filter

The main circuit topology of active power filter is mainly based on the conventional phase-leg cell. The dead-time control should be introduced to avoid the “shoot-through” phenomenon. It may lead to the decrease of compensation performance. Another combination form of the conventional phase-leg cell, interleaved buck cell, is studied in this paper. Moreover, an interleaved buck cell based full-bridge shunt active power filter (IB-APF) is proposed. The characteristics of full-bridge IB-APF are no “shoot-through” phenomenon, high reliability and excellent compensation performance. Focusing on the increasing number of the inductors, the unipolar PWM is employed to reduce the inductance value and volume weight. Finally, simulation and experimentation verify the validity of analysis and feasibility of the full-bridge IB-APF.
