Construction Technology for Balanced Shield Crossing River for Long Distance in Sand Gravel Stratum The authors addressed the construction technology for balanced earth pressure shield crossing river for long distance in sand gravel stratum with respect to shield machine transformation,slurry mix proportion,muck improvement,etc.The main control parameters of shield construction in the initial testing phase includes advancing speed,cutter head speed,thrust and torque of cutter head,earth pressure and slurry mix proportion.The construction was progressed strictly following the parameters set in the initial testing phase and the result shows that the cutter head maintained good durability,which ensured the safety of long distance tunneling.
