Generating half-dry stroke texture for cursive style calligraphy with Markov random field

Half-dry stroke has a special effect in Chinese calligraphy. To simulate the special and complex texture,an algorithm employing the non-interactive means is presented.Markov random field and mapping technology are used in the algorithm.Based on the sample image collected from hand-written artworks and object images drawed from system cursive style, the selected sample image texture is mapped to the strokes in the object image delaminatly. Finally, the half-dry stroke texture is generated.Experimental results demonstrate the method can produce the similar style of the former calligraphy characters.Furthermore,it also proves that computer can simulate the half-dry stroke effect automatically.
