Ultra-wideband sensor network in ECC band for monitoring of vitality in a real world case study

Ultra-wideband sensors are a useful tool for short-range monitoring of people. Their high resolution enables supervision of vitality aspects such as movement, body posture, or even breathing activity. For practical applications outside the lab, other system features besides bandwidth become essential. This paper discusses such features and introduces a sensor network concept that is tailored for use at home. The sensors work in the license free ECC (Electronic Communications Committee) band. Data collected in a field trail will be shown.
