The design and implementation of OFDM-PON uplink frame synchronization based on FPGA

In this paper, we proposed a high-speed parallel algorithm of frame synchronization and elaborate the implementation process with the field programmable gate array (FPGA) based on the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing passive optical network (OFDM-PON) communication systems. Then in the 10km optical fiber this systems, the performance of the synchronization algorithm has successfully reached 2.28 Gb/s real-time data transmission, and the bit error rate is less than 1.0×10-5.
