Simulation of multi UAV flight formation

This paper deals with the flight formation of multiple unmanned air vehicles in performance of task such as surveillance, reconnaissance, target attack etc. Algorithms have been developed and implemented for formation flying taking into account the static and dynamic obstacles, wind gusts that are encountered during the mission. The simulation is done for an arbitrary number of vehicles in virtual reality environment using virtual reality modeling language. Complete simulation have been done showing how the predetermined path is maintained by alleviating the deviations caused so as to avoid static and dynamic obstacle collisions, inter vehicle collisions and hence maintain formation flying.
