Study on a rectifier for microwave power transfer with intermittent input signal

High-efficiency rectifier circuit is required for microwave power transfer. In this paper, we studied on the operation of a rectifier circuit with intermittent input signal. Intermittent signal has high peak-to-average power ratio. We can expect an improvement of RF-DC conversion efficiency by using intermittent input signal. However, the operation of a rectifier circuit after the input stopped is not discussed enough. Therefore, we analyzed the operation of a rectifier circuit by considering the time constants. As a result of this study, we revealed that the operation of a rectifier circuit can be analyzed by using time constants in some conditions. We also calculated RF-DC conversion efficiency and ripple content by using such a condition.
