A new method for modulation type recognition based on the time frequency representations

This paper studies the use of Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD) to distinguish FSK signal, PSK signal, FM signal and SSB signal. The approach is to use the WVD to extract the instantaneous frequency characteristics in a modulation signal. The simulations results verify that this method is effective and correct.
