Inductive power transfer for auxiliary power of medium voltage converters

An inductive power transfer system is designed to supply the auxiliary power of a medium voltage converter. The design is optimized with respect to voltage stability, efficiency, component stress and simplicity. The system is operated without control feedback and achieves constant voltage for varying load by careful selection of component values of the series-series compensated inductive power transfer circuit. This paper includes a detailed discussion of the operation principle, measurement results and sensitivity analysis.
