Server power failure detection system and method

The invention relates to a server power failure detection system, which operates in a main board management controller of a server and comprises a setting module, a first modifying module, a second modifying module, a reading module and a judging module, wherein the setting module is used for storing turning-off marks on a nonvolatile memory of a main board management controller when detecting the turning-on state of a server and is used for setting the turning-off marks into a first turning-off value, the first modifying module is used for modifying the turning-off marks into a second turning-off value when detecting the turning-off state of the server, the second modifying module is used for modifying the turning-off mark into a third turning-off value after the server is turned off and the specific time is passed, and the judging module is used for judging whether the server is turned off or because of direct current power failure or turned off because of alternating current power failure according to the values of the turning-off marks. The invention also provides a server power failure detection method. The system and the method can be used for conveniently and effectively detecting the alternating current power failure or the direct current power failure of the server.
