Proposal of a new compact quasi-isotropic radiator

In this paper we propose a new geometry to generate an isotropic radiation pattern. Derivate from the classical half-wave dipole, the radiation pattern in the three dimension plane (xy, yz and xz) has a very closed uniform distribution. The axial ratio in each one of the three planes is near to one for the proposal dipole shape. The new geometry allows the development of compact measurement systems. The new quasi-isotropic antenna radiate the electric field with linear polarization in the three principals axis. The experimental results have good agreement with the simulated ones, that were obtained with the help of the CST-Microwave Studio.
