Food allergy--its role in the symptoms of obstructive emphysema and chronic bronchitis.

The relief of symptoms of obstructive emphysema in 60 patients for half to 4 years by control of food allergy and, less often, inhalant allergy, with minimal or no corticosteroids, confirms such relief in 20 patients reported in 1965.2 The diagnosis was indicated by pulmonary function tests, lung scans, x-rays, clinical history and physical examination.
