viciLogic: Online learning and prototyping platform for digital logic and computer architecture

This paper describes and demonstrates the viciLogic platform as an effective pedagogical solution for online technology enhanced learning, assessment and prototyping of digital logic and computer architecture systems. viciLogic provides an opportunity to improve digital systems education globally and to develop the global digital logic design community, with a positive impact on future digital logic technologies. viciLogic provides direct access and interaction with an array of Reconfigurable Computing (RC) digital logic hardware in the Cloud using only an internet connection. Learning and prototyping is facilitated through interactive user control and probing of hardware in the Cloud in real time. vici:Learn provides intuitive, structured learning and assessment of digital logic hardware design. vici:Lab has been developed for easy, automated, scalable and low cost hardware design prototype and interactive GUI development using both Cloud-based RC hardware and local RC hardware.
