Future workplace design

Abstract In the age of information technology, the work style of office workers are transformed. In this study, a method for evaluating the worker was developed. Workers were classified based on interaction and autonomy; workers with ‘high interaction and high autonomy’ and ‘low interaction and high autonomy’ were evaluated in this study. As a result of the evaluation, the following suggestions are given for the work environment design: (1) an office layout makes workers concentrate on their own work; (2) for the ‘high interaction’ worker, a layout that helps worker's communication with others is preferred.
