A new equivalent circuit for the Brushless Doubly-Fed Machine

This paper presents a new equivalent circuit for the brushless doubly-fed machine (BDFM) which is suitable for the steady state studies of the machine and the BDFM for adjustable speed drive systems. Based on the fundamental equivalent circuit for the BDFM and the chain equivalent circuit, the new equivalent circuit is developed for the investigation of the BDFM harmonic influence. Simulation results are presented to show the validity of the new equivalent circuit. It is concluded that the new equivalent circuit will provides a theoretical foundation for the design and harmonic analysis of the BDFM.
