Promoting tacit knowledge management using social network analysis

The paper is mainly about how to improve the management of tacit knowledge in the interior of the organization by social network analysis(SNA).Because the tacit knowledge is spread and innovated by the cooperating and communicating between people,the knowledge management system based on IT is not effective enough.The author's research is based upon the cases happened in the Economic Science Lab of Renmin University of China.The data were collected through questionnaire and social relationships network of the information communicating,consulting,and knowledge spreading inside the organization were drawn.Then,the network structure was analyzed quantitatively to find the factors that hold back the spreading and innovating of knowledge by SNA.The result indicates that SNA can offer the reliable basis on how to take strong measures to manage tacit knowledge.
