Thermal stable Eu-doped CaTiO3 phosphors with morphology-control for high-power tricolor white LEDs

Abstract Highly dispersed Eu-doped CaTiO 3 H-type morphology phosphors were prepared via solvothermal method and the morphology could be modulated by the temperatures and solvents. The phosphors showed a strong red emission corresponding to the 5 D 0  →  7 F 2 (618 nm) of Eu 3+ under near-ultraviolet excitation (398 nm) and had high interior quantum efficiency. The concentration quenching and the effect of solvents used to synthesize the samples on the luminous performance were discussed as well. Furthermore, these phosphors have excellent thermal stability compared with the commercial Y 2 O 2 S:Eu 3+ phosphors. Therefore, H-type morphology CaTiO 3 :Eu 3+ is a promising red phosphor under near ultraviolet excitation for high-power tricolor white LEDs.
