A novel dynamic clustering strategy on energy efficiency for dense network deployment

5G network puts forward the concept of dense network, which makes energy efficiency a hot spot of research in wireless cellular network. Base station sleeping is an energy efficient strategy by reducing base station energy consumption. Coordinated Multi-Point technology (CoMP) is also an effective method to improve energy efficiency by reducing the interference between BSs and improving the data rate. Based on the two strategies, an algorithm combining BS sleeping with dynamic clustering through traversal algorithm (SMDC-TA) to maximize EE is proposed. The simulation results show that the proposed method can get higher EE in dense network.
