OF BYTES AND BRAIN ? INFORMATICS EDUCATION MEETS NEURODIDACTICS

Findings of Neurodidactics advise how to support the brain when it is learning, but this information seems not to have reached schools yet. There, in the face of new, competence-based curricula, educational practice is mainly concerned with standardization, competence-orientation and personalization of learning. This article surveys principles of brain-based learning and describes an attempt to enhance programming courses with competence orientation in order to point at possibilities to regard both concepts with teaching and learning in school.
