Furrow Irrigation Practices in Northern Colorado

ABSTRACT THE state-of-the-art of furrow irrigation practices have been studied. State variable analysis showed furrow inflow ratess exceeding design values in 85 per-cent of the evaluations and were least appropriate and limiting to good system performance. Management deci-sions of farmers resulted in improper timing of irriga-tions and improper amounts of water applied with 85 percent of the irrigations evaluated having unacceptable performance.
