Compact Steep-Spectrum 3 CR sources : VLA observations at 1.5, 15 and 22.5 GHz

Observations of a sample of Compact Steep-Spectrum Sources (CSS) from the 3 CR catalogue, made with the Very Large Array at the frequencies of 1.5, 15 and 22.5 GHz, and with angular resolutions ranging from 0.08 to 4 arcsec, are presented, as weel as 8.4 GHz observations of 3C 286 and 3C 305.1. Large-scale structure has only been detected in the vicinity of 3C 216, 3C 299, 3C 346 and 3C 380. The low resolution 1.5 GHz data allow stringent upper limits to be set to any large scale low brightness emission in the remaining sources. The observations at the higher frequencies provide maps with the best resolution which can be achieved with the VLA (0.08-0.15 arcsec), and give additional spectral and polarization information
