Apparatus and method for marker-less detection of movements during MRI measurements

The present invention relates to a device 1 for compensating for movements of a patient 2 in the MR measurements in real time, the apparatus 1 at least one MR-compatible optical sensor device 4, at least one microprocessor means 19 and at least one connection 16 for data exchange with an MRI machine wherein the MR-compatible optical sensor device 4 comprises 21 at least one sensor module 8 for receiving data from which the movement of the patient can be calculated and at least one interface module 20a comprises for transmitting the sensor data to the microprocessor means. On the other hand, the invention relates to a method for compensating motions of a patient during MRI measurements in real time.
