Absolute configurations of antipodes of -chloro- -carboxy- -hydroxybutyric acid, chlorocitramalic acid.

Abstract A new four-step synthesis of γ-chloro-β-carboxy-β-hydroxybutyric acid, chlorocitramalic acid, from β-carboxybut-2-enoic acid is described. the absolute configuration of the chlorocitramalic acid antipodes was established.
