발전용 고속디젤엔진의 커넥팅 로드 내구해석

Engine speed has an effect on durability of connecting rod in a combustion engine. As engine speed increase, inertia force by rotation and translation motion is increased and this cyclic motion changes constantly the direction of stress as well as the magnitude during one cycle of engine. These characteristics should be taken an account to assess more reliable fatigue strength of connecting rod. In this study, flexible multi-body dynamic analysis including lubrication analysis in the elasto-hydrodynamic regime was carried out to obtain the inertia force and bearing force at the smallend and bigend of connecting rod. Based on the stress history at each point of connecting rod, fatigue strength of connecting rod with a serrated bigend was evaluated. Fretting damage possibility at contact surfaces of serration was investigated.
