Optimization of injection moulding parameters for the housing body of electric kettle based on Taguchi method

The feeding system and temperature adjustment system of a mould for the plastic housing body of an electric kettle were designed after an analysis on the causes of quality defects and based on finite element software Moldflow.Warpage amount as a quality index was obtained by using Taguchi method in which forming conditions like melt temperature,mould temperature,packing pressure,pressure holding times and cooling times act as influencing factors.ANOVA method was used to compare the effects of various parameters on warpage amount and an optimized combination of technological parameters was achieved.
