On-line image gathering by stationary and movable sensor node for underwater visual surveys

This paper describes about on-line underwater image gathering utilizing stationary sensor node and movable sensor node. We consider applying them to investigate the conditions of marine ecosystem around coral leaf at Okinawa, Japan. The framework of our proposed underwater image gathering system is introduced. Current developments on stationary and movable sensor node prototypes are also described. Basic examinations utilizing such prototype at underwater environment are also described. This paper describes fundamental experimental results of on-line capturing and transferring underwater image.
