Development and Validation of a New Tool to Measure the Profile of Strategic Competencies in the Organizational Practice

In this study there was presented the validity process of a new tool for measure of strategic competencies. The Strategic Thinking and Behaviour Questionnaire (STBQ) includes 11 competencies: Activity, Creativity, Flexibility, Persistence, Risk preference, Self-efficacy, Analysis, Consequences prediction, Globality, Long-term planning, and Strategic evaluation. The research in a sample of 1503 workers indicated initial support for the validity and reliability of the STBQ. Internal consistency of the STBQ subscales was between .70 to .86. and high level of the validity in the context of cognitive abilities. The STBQ can be used to diagnose a profile of strategic competencies as a predictors set of the individual effectiveness in the task and goal-oriented activity in the work and management situations in the organizational practice.
