Electrical energy is one of the most demanding yet mismanaged resources in the world. Both residential and commercial buildings represent one of the highest energy consumption entities in the world. Particularly in the case of commercial buildings, such as residential hotels consume an enormous amount of electrical energy: about 60% more than similar sized residential buildings. In order to manage the consumption of residential units there is a dire need for a monitoring system which can give the overall as well as detailed view of electrical energy consumption. In this paper our proposed system will help hotel managers to monitor electricity consumption of each room of hotel as well of the whole infrastructure. In this system, current sensors measure the current flowing through appliances then micro-controller puts the aggregated data on the cloud based server through internet gateways for necessary visualizations and calculations. The measured data on servers is then analyzed and visualized in info-graphical format to display energy consumption. In order to benefit the customers of the hotel, we will also have a new feature which is providing access for customized services to customers by using RFID cards. These cards will provide only access those services of the room like Air Conditioning, Heater, Fans, Lights etc. which a customer has subscribed in the room rental agreement.
