This paper first introduces the main process of spatial prediction for regional landslides with reference to the problems in the prediction.Firstly, the transaction process of raster data is presented. Then, the prediction flowchart of the information value model is brought forward combined with storage characteristics of raster data. Finally,a case study was made on the new town site of Badong in the Three Gorges Reservoir area for the spatial prediction of regional landslides based on raster data. The Key technologies of spatial prediction are depicted emphatically such as the solution to computing information value based on raster data, the determination of predictive factor state, and the classification method for predictive results which should be analyzed for rationality. The highly efficient and rational solution for landslides spatial prediction is provided by resolving these problems.
