A deterministic method for solving the Boltzmann equation with parallel computations

The capabilities of a computational method based on exact integration over the angles in the collision integral and on piecewise constant approximation in the velocity space are analyzed. A parallelization procedure is described, and the efficiency of a deterministic algorithm implemented on multiprocessor computers is examined. Test solutions to the Boltzmann equation are obtained with a fixed accuracy for the problem of uniform isotropic relaxation. Some three-dimensional problems are computed as examples.
