Investigation of Wheel-rail Contact Geometry and Dynamic Matching for Heavy Haul Freight Wagon with 30t Axle Load

For the heavy haul freight wagon with 30t axle load and railway line conditions in China, the matching characteristics between LM wheel profile and different type rails were investigated by analyzing wheel-rail contact geometries and dynamic interactions. On this basis,the influence of rail cant on wheel-rail contact geometries and curving performance of freight wagon was studied. Compared with the rail types of CHN60 and USA68,smaller equivalent conicity was obtained from CHN75 rail as the lateral displacement of wheelset changed below 4mm. And for wheelset's bigger lateral shift, the equivalent conicity could increase to a bigger value. Both of running stability and curving performance of freight wagon could be taken into account. Another advantage of using CHN75 rail was that the forces subjected by track structures were reduced. When CHN75 rail was adopted,the tread equivalent conicity and curving behavior of freight wagon for rail cant 1 /40 were better than that for rail cant 1 /20 and 1 /30.
