Optical setups for measuring the shape of three-dimensional objects by the method of band projection

Four basic versions of an optical setup for illuminating an object with structured light and recording its image in order to measure the shape of three-dimensional objects are analyzed in the framework of geometrical optics. It is shown that only two versions of the optical setup make it possible to use algorithms to interpret interferograms to reconstruct surface topograms of an object.
